2008 Defining Wisdom Grant Competition

In 2008, up to twenty (20), two-year research grants will be awarded to scholars from institutions around the world who have received their Ph.D. within the past ten years. We seek to support methodologically rigorous and highly original projects from a broad range of disciplines; many individual projects will likely take root in a particular area or in two related areas. Award recipients will participate in annual research meetings and quarterly conference calls with the other grantees and the Project Council, opening the door for richer conversations and enabling further collaborations. In February, forty finalists were selected and asked to submit full proposals by May 2008.

This grant competition aims to plant the seeds for further collaborations, and pave the way for future grant opportunities. Over a period of several years, we hope that the Defining Wisdom Project and its expanding efforts will bring this important area of research to an entirely new level.

As they come available, future grant opportunities will be posted here.
