Alicia Ames-Trelles, Currently at Westside Children's Center.
Alicia has been working in the social services field for over 28 years, in both direct service and administration. Currently, she is a case manager at Westside Children’s Center in the Family Unity Network Program. A strong interest in the complexities of human beings (behaviors, attitudes and the mind) led her to study psychology. She attended The Sacred Heart University and in 1980 graduated as Psychologist in Lima, Peru. Later, she earned her Master's in Psychology from Antioch University Los Angeles, and in 1998 was Licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist. Her profession has given her the opportunity to fulfill her passion for assisting people, improving their quality of life, discovering their talents, strengths, and overcoming life adversities. She considers this a privilege and a tremendously rewarding activity. In the U.S., she has developed a special commitment to assisting the Hispanic community in their acculturation process and assisting parents with the challenging role of raising their children in a culturally foreign environment. She enjoys the love of her husband and her beautiful eleven year-old daughter.
